Q: How are you doing? A: I've made a deal with myself that i'm going to put all my energy into music, instead of getting fucked up. It was a wise decision, because the album's actually really good, which hopefully means that people will legally download it, so i'll get a shit-ton of money to behave like a rock n' roll bastard in maybe two years time, as opposed to being rock n' roll, making shitty albums and hoping people will buy them.
Q: When we last spoke, you said you'd have sex with a sperm whale. Have you done it yet? A: Well, I've only dreamed of it - wet dreams. I can't swim well, so we've got to figure out a way of doing it.
Q: You also told us you might make a set of dildos out of your band's cocks. Rammstein have just done it... A: They probably stole the idea from us. I'm sure they used prosthetics in their ''Pussy'' video. I worked in my dad's sex shop and i've seen prosthetics - with those fake, monster cocks there's a certain colouration and a straightness. Q: There's a lot of screams on your new album? A: I was laughing about it, because i knew it was going to be called Screamworks and unconsciously i was thinking about it containing a lot of screams. I think it's more about the primal scream of pleasure and and agony, so its function is fairly sexual, but with a devilish smirk. It does have black humour and a lot of sex in it.

No doubt about it, HIM is in. Then again they always have been, since the first Helldone Festival back in 2005 - and even beyond that. After all, there wouldn’t be a festival in the first place if the band hadn’t made a tradition out of playing New Year’s Eve gigs at their home base, the Tavastia club, starting all the way back in 1998!
Since early August HIM has been working on their seventh studio album in Los Angeles with producer Matt Squire. The working title of the album is “Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice” and it is scheduled to be released on Valentine’s Day 2010. Starving for live action the band has now decided they would love to headline each and every night of the Four Headed Beast from the North that is Helldone 2009!

The 69 Eyes have just released the most electrifying, hard rocking album of their careers in “Back In Blood”. They will arrive at Helldone Festival red hot after an extensive American tour. After a three-night residency of what will without doubt consist of vampire ballads & debauchery they will hand over the reins to Anathema acoustic.
Anathema is of course one of the forerunners of British doom metal. Formed in Liverpool 1990, they have outgrown all genres a long time ago in their ever continuing search for new ways to express feeling through sound. Anathema acoustic is an ad hoc line-up featuring band members Daniel, Vincent and Jamie Cavanagh, plus Sarah Cavanagh and Claire Molloy. A rare treat indeed!

Flamer is the name of the new band of former Bleak frontman and songwriter Caleb. This second time around Caleb has managed to retain everything that was good in his former band, including hit single Fate off the Jade Warrior movie, add some new twists to his music and take the whole thing to the next level. Flamer’s debut album “Molotov Cocktails” is in the pipeline.
The reviews of Ghost Brigade’s 2007 debut "Guided by Fire" were glowing. ‘Impressively atmospheric, dark, intelligent and passionate’, they read. ‘Katatonia's grief collides with the wrath of Neurosis’. The guys from Jyväskylä kept their cool, stayed focused and upped their game with this year’s “Isolation Songs”. Brilliant live band, too!
After having released a handful of singles that received cult status Vanity Beach finally got around to releasing their debut album “A Life Of Vice” earlier this year. Their mission has been from the very beginning to bring back danger into rock & roll. When you listen to their mix of noisy post-punk, haunting synthesizer soundscapes and dark metal overtones, you know they’re on the right track. ‘They sound like Mötley Crüe’s soul looks like’, Metal Hammer famously commented. Everybody knows that’s a scary place to be.
Major Label is a trio from Helsinki, just three guys making this big, big music. You could label their second album “When I Am With You, You Are Safe” alternative metal, but that means you’ve only scratched the surface. Why fix something if it isn’t broken? Don’t worry, we haven’t. The
fourth Helldone Festival will be just as warm, loose and easygoing as
it’s always been. There’s one new thing though, more of a sort of added
bonus. A road trip!
Yup, that’s right. This time around HIM , KYPCK (pronounced ‘Kursk’) and 45 Degree Woman
take the festival on the road, to the cities of Oulu and Tampere. While
this fearless trio shares some good vibes with the rest of the country,
Helldone HQ in Helsinki is rocking to the sounds of Stam1na , Diablo and Godsplague on Monday 29th , and The 69 Eyes , Negative and Sara on Tuesday 30th . New Year’s Eve marks the eagerly awaited return of the road warriors.
During the past couple of years, the Helldone Festival has also been
proud to present some cool bands from overseas but you have politely
pointed out that the thing you really want to see and hear are Finnish
bands. Finnish bands in the dark heart of the Finnish winter.
Your wishes are our commands, you lovely lot! Besides, you’ve got it
spot on: it’s these bands that are the true essence of the Spirit of
Helldone, the very thing that makes our festival one of a kind. These
bands, this venue, and - last but pretty f****n’ far from least - this
audience. That means you guys.
It’s a family affair. Always has been, always will be.
Some of this year’s bands have played at the festival before but none
has been invited back purely for old times sake. Each and every band in
the Helldone 2008 line-up has recently reached important milestones in
their careers: be it a killer album, a breakthrough in new territories
or a big tour. They all are alive, hungry, fast and furious. And
definitely as cool as a December night in downtown Hellsinki.
Helldone 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of HIM’s New Year’s Eve shows
at Tavastia Club - the tradition out of which the Helldone Festival was
born. Each night there will be three top bands on the Tavastia stage,
while the neighbouring venue Semifinal serves as a chill out zone with
some familiar faces spinning records. HIM will traditionally start
their set at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

the gig was BRILLIANT...Ville was in a great mood - he couldnt shut his mouth up (hahahaha) - the rest of the guys played amazing....Linde is a fuckin genius....Mige is an amazing bass player...Burton is simply fantastic...and Gas...well, Gas above all he is a great entertainer and the sweetest of all....They started with ''Passions Killing Floor'', the set was fuckin beautiful with the VD painting, the carpets, the cool lamps....sooo romantic and sooooo beautiful.....they played for almost 2 hours and the crowd went nuts.....everybody seemed to enjoy it, especially Ville who talked non-stop....!!!!!! best intro: bleed well...''at least now, my balls are not bleeding''...he was referring to Jonna....!!!!!!!
Everyone knows, that my fav of all time song of HIM is ''Its All Tears''......well, the one that rocked my world last nite was ''Right Here In My Arms'' cos of the way he performed it....did i say performed it;;;; i meant FUCKIN NAILED IT.........Ville has the greatest voice of all.....a totally different version of ''right here in my arms''....kinda jazz, kinda smooth....i dont know how to describe it but he fuckin nailed it.....he is a brilliant singer and his voice is devine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ville left the stage a couple of times (just for a few seconds) so he could have a smoke....poor baby!!! lol
The funniest thing that happened was when someone throw a t-shirt on him and the t-shirt found him accidentaly in his crotch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ville shouted: Fuckin hell, you bastard - you got me right in the crotch...You fuckin hit me....'' - after a while he said, always in a funny way: im gonna have to go and check my nuts !!!!! and he did go backstage for a second!!!! when he came back he placed something (have no idea what was that - i have it in a video and u will see it soon enough) saying: i have to protect my valuables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! told ya, he was in a great mood last nite.......what i didnt tell you though is that someone who threw the t-shirt was MY COUSIN.....Me, Saeve and Fozzy got Ville a t-shirt with a logo: Punk Attitude and an attached badge ''dirty bastard''....we thought it would be nice to throw it to him......well, my cousin though aimed very high and got Ville in his nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a blast - it was one of the best gigs i've ever watched.....HIM is an amazing band!!! and Ville is by far the best frontman EVER.....Without a doubt - he has everything....!!!!!
